CULTURE INSPIRED SPORTSWEAR.
This project was the first one I did last year where I was inspired by both my culture and lingerie pieces. I had attended the evolution of underwear exhibition and that really inspired me. I decided to do a sportswear collection where I used the nude colours juxtaposed with a few signature bright colours to create casual sportswera pieces. In addition to that some of the garment pieces were shaped in the form of Adinkra symbols-Special Ghanaian symbols that usually tell a story or a proverb. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this project and this is where the first instances of lingerie passion came to light.
